We are expecting a Severe Thunderstorm Watch box to be issued for our western counties shortly. A storm is starting to develop out in the Abilene area, the first of many I suspect. These storms will be capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. The SPC has issued a Mesoscale Discussion on this matter. I believe the cold front will create a line of storms later this afternoon; these storms could easily reach into our western counties of Young, Graham and Stephens before drawing closer to the metroplex.
Still thinking that by the time these storms reach the metro they will have lost most of their punch. We?ll see, with weather we always plan around the worse and hope for the best.
